Importance of Hibiscus Plant

    Hibiscus is a bushy annual plant.  Various parts of the plant are used to make spices, soups, sauces, shampoos, etc. The flowers and leaves are used to make more natural medicines and have various health benefits. Hibiscus is now largely cultivated on tropical and subtropical regions, especially in Sudan, Egypt, Thailand, Mexico, and China.  Hibiscus plant is made up of more plant acids, including citric acid, malic acid, tartaric acid and allo-hydroxycitric acids.

How to grow Hibiscus

         The hibiscus flower best in temperatures between 60 F – 90 F and cannot tolerate temps below 32 F. Each spices of hibiscus will grow based on weather conditions. So buy spices of hibiscus based on your location and weather conditions. When it is in blooming stage it needs more amount of water. In warm weather hibiscus will need daily watering and in winter when the soil is dry to the touch it needs less quantity of water or even we can spray water through pipes. In order to save plant stem and root from insects in summer use potassium fertilizers and normally once in a week use diluted liquid fertilizers.

  • Hibiscus tea will maintain our cholesterol level.
  • Powdered hibiscus will maintain our blood pressure and blood sugar level.
  • Crushed leaves and flowers of hibiscus will maintain hair growth and reduce hair fall.
  • Powdered leaves and flowers of hibiscus boiled with gingelly oil will give shining and soft hair and reduce dandruff even we can also use hibiscus shampoos.

Importance of Plant Tulasi


The original name of Tulasi devi is Vrinda devi. She is one of the most exalted devotees of the Sri Krishna. All scriptures stress on the importance of getting the mercy of Tulasi devi if one has to make progress in the path of devotion. Tulasi is auspicious in all aspects, simply by seeing, simply by touching, simply by remembering, simply by praying to, simply by bowing before.

The Story of Tulasi Devi

Tulasi devi was married to Jalhandara(One who born from water). He drew more strength from her chastity and purity. Due to her chastity even Lord Shiva can't defeat Jalhandara .So all devatha's went to Lord Vishnu for help. Lord Vishnu assuming him in the form of her husband and went to Tulasi devi. She thought Lord Vishnu to be her husband, at that moment her chastity was broken. Taking this one as advantage the demigods killed Jalhandara. Lord Vishnu changed to his original form Tulasi devi understood what happened and she cursed Lord Vishnu to become a stone. Lord Vishnu accepted her curse and blessed. He said for the benefit of all the human beings you will be in the form of plant which is most auspicious for performing devotional services. Due to this women's are doing puja to tulasi plant on every morning. In olden days people place tulasi plant in courtyard of their house because it always exhibit heat, so it will destroy all impurities in air.
